About Midwest Energy News

Midwest Energy News, launched in 2010, is a daily collection of the top energy stories of importance to the region. Our objective is to keep stakeholders, policymakers, and citizens informed of the important changes taking place as the Midwest shifts from fossil fuels to a clean energy system.

Midwest Energy News also publishes original journalism written by independent freelance reporters, usually on a weekly basis. These stories are available for republication by other news outlets via Creative Commons license.

Midwest Energy News is a project of the RE-AMP media center, which provides support to more than 145 nonprofits throughout the region, and is based at Fresh Energy, a non-partisan, nonprofit organization that advocates for clean energy policy. Midwest Energy News is an editorially independent news and information site, and its contents should not be considered to reflect policy positions of either Fresh Energy or RE-AMP.

Funding for Midwest Energy News comes from the Joyce, Kresge and Garfield foundations, as well as from individual donors.
